Summer KOINONIA!

Throughout June, July, and August we will break from our regular Wednesday evening schedule of singing rehearsals and studies, BUT there is still an opportunity for us to gather in community (koinonia) and fellowship. If you have been wanting to get a bit more exercise or just visit with fellow church members, join us in a Walking Group on Wednesday nights before Chime Choir rehearsal. Put on your walking shoes and join in outside or inside with the encouragement of your friends. Potential start time will be 6:00pm–beginning Wednesday, June 5th. Questions?–contact the church office.

Changes Coming – Thrivent Members Can Help Make an Impact

Extend the Common Bondthrivent1

Be part of one of the most important decisions in Thrivent’s history! From March 1 to April 30, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans benefit members can vote on extending our common bond from Lutheran to Christian.

Thrivent Financial helps people with a common bond come together for the common good and we have seen what can happen when Thrivent works: lives are changed, communities are strengthened and financial futures are made more secure.

Now those of us who are members of Thrivent have an opportunity to expand that good work by extending Thrivent’s common bond from Lutheran to Christian.
To do this requires a change to the Thrivent Articles of Incorporation – and that is where you as a benefit member must participate by voting and approving this change.

Helping More Christians

  • Serving more Christians – while staying firmly rooted in our Lutheran heritage – allows Thrivent to evolve and grow for the benefit of its members, their children and their grandchildren.
  • Today, many Lutheran hospitals, schools and institutions have grown to serve people who don’t call the Lutheran church home. Like these organizations, we should be proud of Thrivent’s mission, history and traditions, and Thrivent believes the mission, history and traditions will be meaningful to other Christians.
  • Especially in these tough economic times, many Christians could be helped by Thrivent’s products and member benefits. By extending Thrivent’s common bond, Thrivent can better serve the needs of more people.

Here is a letter from the CEO at Thrivent sharing more information about this change:
