This Tuesday, February 21st, the participants of the ELCA National Youth Gathering will be preparing a pancake and sausage/bacon supper for this year’s Shrove Tuesday celebration, marking the eve of the season of Lent. PLEASE SIGN UP on the sign-up sheet on the display next to Pastor’s office. Dinner will run from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. There is no charge for this event, however, a free-will offering will be received and added to the funds for the National Youth Gathering.

Is there a better combination? Yes, how about playing Bingo and eating Pizza with a bunch of your friends. Sound like fun? Bring your family to church on Saturday, Feb 25th at 6PM and enjoy an evening of Fun Food and Fellowship. Beginning this Sunday, there will be a sign up sheet on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Fuquay-Varina Food Pantry

The Sunday School and Faith, Fun, and Fellowship are partnering up for a project benefiting the Fuquay-Varina Food Pantry. On the first Sunday of each month throughout the remainder of the year, the Sunday School
children will bring in and collect food to be donated to the Fuquay-Varina Food Pantry. This Sunday, February 5th, please bring in canned juice. We are excited to help provide food for those who are in need.

Family Beach Retreat – February 17-19, 2012

February 17-19th, 2012, APLC leaders would like to invite your family to participate in a family beach retreat at the Kure Beach Lutheran Retreat Center. It is a fantastic opportunity for families to relax and get to know other families at APLC. We have two more family spots available. Cost would be $100-$120 per family and help prepare one meal for those participating. Please see the youth and family ministries bulletin board for more details.

Meals will continue at 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. All other regular programming will be suspended until the new year. At 6:00 p.m. our children will rehearse for the upcoming Christmas program. At 7:00 p.m. the congregation will gather in the sanctuary for Advent Mid-Week Worship featuring the Holden Evening Prayer and readings around the Jesse Tree.
