Thank you to everyone that helped support Team APLC by fundraising for Relay for Life. The actual event is taking place on Sat-urday, May 19th from 120:00pm until Sunday, May 20th at 6:00am. The event is taking place at Holy Grove Middle School which is right off Avent Ferry Rd. in Holly Springs. Come out and show your support. There will be food, music, games, sno cones and bounce houses.

This week marks week five in our six week campaign to aid Lutheran Services for the Aging in the valued services they provide to the members of our senior community. This is our Commitment Sunday where we are given the rewarding opportunity to become a part of this ministry through the commitment we pledge on this day. Please take time to prayerfully consider how you can help ensure skilled nursing care is available in a caring, faith based community for those who have cared for us throughout their lives.

Open House at Camp Agape – May 6th

We invite all to enjoy the beauty of Camp Agapé in the spring. The day will include light refreshments, a basket raffle (featuring campership), tours of the site, camp store, nature activities led by Mir, archery, the dedication of the newly renovated Yount Meeting room in the Lodge, and the dedication of the Zip Line. Durham Bulls Baseball

Sign up today for our June 10 trip to the Durham Bulls for a Sunday evening game 5:05pm against the Toledo Mud Hens (Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers). The tickets are $8.00 a piece (for children two and under there is no charge but they are NOT assigned a seat; if you want them to have a seat, it is $8.00). The campaign to help raise funds to revitalize several nursing and assisted living facilities in North Carolina continues this week with a Temple Talk given by a member of our own congregation, Murney Rinholm. Murney will share her insights into the many difficulties involved in securing adequate care for those in need.
SWFCA Annual Choirfest – May 6th

SWFCA’s Annual Choirfest will take place at 3:00pm on May 6, here at Abiding Presence. Choirs from seven area churches, including APLC’s Chancel Choir, will perform. There is no charge to attend this fabulous event. An offering to support the ongoing mission of SWFCA will be taken.
LSA Talent Show

A youth chime choir is being formed for those kids who wish to participate in the talent show in Salisbury on May 12th. If you are signed up for a performance you can still join the chime choir. We will most likely be rehearsing on Wednesday nights during Koinoinia. Please sign up in the Narthex if you are interested.
