Via de Cristo

What is Via De Cristo?

Via De Cristo is a Spanish phrase meaning “Way of Christ”. Via De Cristo is a highly structured three day weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people and brings them to a new awareness of living in God’s grace. It is a combined effort of lay people and clergy toward renewal of the church. A Via De Cristo Weekend is three days, BUT IT LASTS A LIFETIME!!

A Via de Cristo weekend begins on Thursday evening and ends Sunday afternoon – three busy but joy filled days. Participants live and study together with lots of singing, prayer and worship. Discussions center around inspiring talks given by both laity and clergy. These talks emphasize God’s grace, its reality in your life, and how to share His grace with others. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in the daily celebration of Holy Communion and to deepen your understanding of the real presence of Christ in His body of believers.

Who has attended Via de Cristo from Abiding Presence?

We have a growing number of individuals who have attended a Via de Cristo weekend from Abiding Presence. Please speak to Linda Bannard (lbannard@nc.rr.com) to be placed in contact with a member who has made a weekend.

Once one has made a weekend, often Group Reunions are formed or joined. For information on APLC’s Group Reunions, click here.

  • Click here to get a registration form.  Contact Pastor if you have any questions about filling out the form.  If you do not have internet access, your sponsor will be able to get a form.
  • Have Pastor Jeffrey sign the registration form.
  • Send in the registration form and check to the address specified on the registration form. The cost of the weekend is approximately $130 per person, often there is scholarship funds to help if need be. This covers all of the expenses.  There are a maximum number of guests that can attend a weekend. The sooner your application is submitted the greater the chances that you will be able to attend.
