The Columbarium Memorial Garden

Abiding Presence Lutheran Church has set aside a beautiful plot of land known as
The Columbarium Memorial Garden to memorialize members of the community, members of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, and for the interment of cremated remains.

The Columbarium Memorial Garden is a place for people to come and sit in a garden-like setting to enjoy an atmosphere of quiet meditation and reflection. The garden can be visited anytime.

What is a Columbarium?

The word “columbarium” is derived from “Columba,” the Latin term for dovecote, a compartmented house where doves, the symbol of God’s Spirit and Peace, come to roost.  In modern terms, a Columbarium is an above-ground structure designed for the interment of cremated remains in a niche.  The surrounding area is a lushly landscaped garden-like setting providing an environment for quiet meditation and reflection.

Please contact the Church Office if you would like more information on the APLC Columbarium.
