Main Text:  Acts 11:1-18 (Revelation 21:1-6; John 13:31-35)

One of the things that often keeps us from witnessing is our fear of what to say. It can be an antagonistic world in which to share your experience of faith. It is hard enough sharing our witness with fellow believers. Peter is facing criticism from his own people for having shared the gospel with outsiders. In this story from the book of Acts, Peter gives us an example we can follow. He did not argue with them over theology or biblical interpretation. Peter simply shared a story. He understood why these Jewish believers were offended, because he was raised the same way. So he shared his encounter that opened his mind and heart to a God whose love is expansive and inviting. God gives us a message to share through our own experiences with God that led us into a greater understanding of God. When we share our story, we invite others to follow the path of enlightenment that God led us into. We are called to be witnesses! God will give us a message!
