Donna began her professional career as a social worker for a residential children’s home. After a few years there, she segued into work as a housing and credit counselor. This became a 20+ year career in financial counseling, with several different non-profit agencies in NC and VA.

Along the way, she married and had a child. Her daughter is now a happy, well-rounded, very independent teenager, which is one of many reasons she decided to return to work outside the home; she also loves meeting new people and being of service to the community.

Her hobbies are reading, gardening, watching true crime dramas and tending to her family's menagerie of pets (2 dogs, 1 bird, 1 kitten, multiple koi and the occasional random rehabbing lizard or toad).
