Holy Week
Holy Week & Easter Worship: In Person & Live Streamed
March 29: Palm Sunday Worship @ 9:30 am
On Palm Sunday, we enter Holy Week gathered outside the sanctuary and enter the church waving palms and shouting "Hosannas" as we remember Christ's triumphal entrance in Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. We will read together the Passion of Our Lord According to Matthew, remembering that the way to Easter joy is by way of the cross.
April 2: Maundy Thursday Worship @ 7:00 pm
On Maundy Thursday, we begin the Three Days of Jesus' death and resurrection. The sanctuary will be reimagined as we worship in the round, creating a more intimate worship experience as a church. We will follow Jesus' example of humbly caring for one another through the washing of hands and remembering the Last Supper through communion.
April 3: Good Friday Worship @ 7:00 pm
On Good Friday, we will return to our intimate worship setting, gathering in the round for a Tenebrae service, entitled "This Jesus must Die." The candles will be extinguished, one by one, as we hear creative reflections from biblical characters, who, like all of us, were challenged by the ways that Jesus disrupted the status quo with God's radical, life-changing love.
April 5: Easter Sunday Worship @ 9:30 am
On Easter Sunday, we will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with shouts of Alleluia and songs of praise. We will proclaim God’s faithfulness, power, and love through the feast of Holy Communion and depart with joy to proclaim the good news of God’s endless love that is loose in the world.
April 5: Easter Egg Hunt. If you want to donate stuffed Easter Eggs, there's still time. Following Easter morning worship, children will enjoy their own special time in the fellowship hall, followed by an Easter Egg hunt. Please have an Easter basket or bag for each child to collect eggs.
