Melissa grew up as a military child and had the opportunity to live in many different places, which helped shape her love for community and connection. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech. She taught elementary school for 16 years and authored a Kindergarten math curriculum.
Melissa lives in Fuquay-Varina with her husband and their three daughters. Outside of school, she enjoys photography, reading, and gardening. She is honored to lead Appleseeds Preschool, guided by her passion for children and learning and by her calling to serve others through Christian education.
