Vicar Kirsten Beth Starr grew up between Canada and the South Pacific. Following high school, she joined the US Navy, serving as a Reactor Operator. After her military service, she spent 20 years working in civilian nuclear power in a variety of roles.
She is currently enrolled at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where she is pursuing a Master of Divinity, and she is a Candidate for Word and Sacrament Ordination. Kirsten enjoys ministry with children of all ages—even the grown-up kind.
Vicar Kirsten lives in Fuquay-Varina with her daughter, while her son attends the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, singing, watching hockey, and spending time with her children. Her two favorite places in Raleigh are the Art Museum and anywhere hockey is happening.
